Individual Therapy

There will be all sorts of reasons why you come to see me.

Maybe you or someone you know has been struggling for a while now and is ready for change. Maybe your Dr, Psychiatrist, a teacher or someone else in your life has been to therapy and recommended you come along. You can self refer or be referred. I work with people of all ages and abilities and have lots of experience in neurodiversity too.

Initially, I suggest that we meet to find out more about what the challenges are. I may ask to talk to other people who know you well, with your permission, so we can understand what has been happening as fully as possible. You can come alone or bring someone or something for support. You can ask me questions too, and then we can feel together if I am someone you would like to work with.

I will aim to listen carefully, ask questions and reflect back to you what I have heard. I will treat you with the utmost respect. What you say will not be shared unless we need to bring in extra support for you, and we can discuss this together.

As we come to understand what has been happening, we can co-create a formulation of the issues. Once we have a shared understanding, we will craft a path to walk together using our understanding of the evidence base, our insights and experience and your desired wishes and outcomes. Every way of working is highly personalised to meet your own unique needs and potential. I believe in bringing the therapy to you and adapting it to meet you. I sincerely want to help you relight the beauty and joy in life that I believe is your birthright.
